Santiago de Chiquitos is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
location
Santiago de Chiquitos is the central place of the canton Santiago de Chiquitos in the municipality Roboré in the province of Chiquitos . The village is located at an altitude of 622 m on the southwest edge of the Serranía Santiago , which rises with impressive rock formations to over 900 m height.

Santiago de Chiquitos is located in the eastern Bolivian lowlands between the Chiquitos hill country and the elongated ridge of the Serranía Santiago.
The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C, the annual precipitation is about 1100 mm (see Roboré climate diagram). The region has a tropical climate with a balanced temperature profile, the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only insignificantly between 22 ° C in June and 28 ° C from October to January. Santiago de Chiquitos is 467 kilometers east of Santa Cruz, the capital of the department.
From Santa Cruz, the paved highway Ruta 4 leads east via Cotoca , Pailón and San José de Chiquitos to Roboré and on to Puerto Suárez on the Brazilian border. Eight kilometers south-east of Roboré, a dirt road branches off from Ruta 4 in a north-easterly direction and after 14 km reaches Santiago de Chiquitos .
