Saori Kimura ( Japanese 木村 沙織 , Kimura Saori ; born August 19, 1986 in Yashio ) is a Japanese volleyball player . She took part in three Olympic Games and won the bronze medal in 2012.

Career

Kimura started her career at Shimokitazawa Seitoku High School. In 2003 she made her debut in the Japanese national team , with which she took part in the World Cup . In 2004 she reached the quarter-finals with the team and thus fifth place at the Olympic Games . The following year, Japan finished third in the Asian Cup . Kimura also joined Toray Arrows in 2005 . At the 2006 World Cup in her own country, she was sixth with Japan. In 2007 the national team won the Asian Cup. The outside attacker won the national cup and championship double with the club in 2008. She then played an Olympic tournament in Beijing for the second time and was again fifth. 2009 Toray Arrows was able to successfully defend the championship title. Japan finished the Asian Cup in third place. After the third championship title in a row, Kimura was also third with Japan at the 2010 World Cup . In 2011 there were two second places for Kimura's club in the cup and championship. The national team achieved the same result at the continental championship. When World Cup Japan came in fourth place. In 2012 Kimura celebrated the double again with Toray Arrows. She then took part in the Olympic Games in London for the third time and won bronze. After the tournament, Kimura moved to the Turkish league to Vakıfbank Güneş Sigorta İstanbul , with whom she won the Turkish Cup, the Champions League and the Turkish Championship in 2013. Then she was committed by local rivals Galatasaray Istanbul .
