Sara Johanna Maria Larsson (born January 4, 1977 in Malmö ) is a Sami - Swedish politician (MG). From 2005 to 2017 she was a member of the Sami parliament of Sweden (Sametinget) and twice chaired the parliamentary committee.

Career and politics

Larsson grew up as the child of a reindeer herding family in Klimhpe ( South Sami for Klimpfjäll) in Sameby in the municipality of Vualtjere (Vilhelmina). Larsson trained as a human ecologist at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and worked in the administration of Västerbotten County .

Larsson has been politically active since 2001 and in 2005 became a member of parliament and chair of the Min Geaidnu party (MG). In 2013 she was elected Vice-Chair. In 2009 she was able to win one of three mandates for Min Geaidnu. In the Sami parliament of Sweden, the Sámediggi in Kiruna , Larsson was from 2009 to May 2010 and from May to November 2011 chairwoman of the five-member parliamentary committee ( Swedish styrelseordförande ). She received a second mandate for the years 2013 to 2017. In the 2017 election, her party received only one mandate. Christina Åhrén became MP , Larsson came fourth in her party.

As chairwoman of the Swedish Parliamentary Bureau, Sara Larsson was President of the Sami Parliamentary Council (Sámi Parlamentáralaš Rađđi, Samisk parlamentariskt råd, SPR) until April 15, 2010 .

Larsson is married and has three children; she has a sister.

The link between Larsson and a mathematician of the same name from Lund University is incomprehensible.
