Sara Shepard
Sara Shepard (born April 8, 1977 ) is the American author of the bestselling book series Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game , which have since been filmed as television series.
Life
Sara Shepard graduated from Downingtown West High School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania in 1995. She then studied at New York University and completed her Masters at Brooklyn College . After graduating, she wrote for Elle and Time, among others . In addition to studying and doing jobs, she began writing in her spare time at an early age. Her childhood dream wasn't primarily to become a writer. Today she lives in Philadelphia with her husband and their dogs.
The novels in the Pretty Little Liars series are based on experiences the author had in her youth. In the books, the four girls Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin and Spencer Hastings are threatened by a mysterious stalker "A" who seems to know all of their secrets.
Film adaptations
Pretty Little Liars , a television series based on the book series of the same name, has beenbroadcaston ABC Family since June 8, 2010. The series is produced by Alloy Entertainment . The four girls are embodied by Lucy Hale , Shay Mitchell , Ashley Benson and Troian Bellisario .
The series The Lying Game is also based on the book series of the same name by Sara Shepard. It aired on ABC Family between August 15, 2011 and March 12, 2013. Alexandra Chando portrayed the twin sisters Sutton Mercer and Emma Becker.
