Sarah Elisabeth Buddeberg (* 1982 in Hagen ) is a German politician . She is a member of the state parliament in Saxony ( Die Linke ).

Life

Sarah Buddeberg moved to Saxony in 2002 and then to Dresden in 2008 . She studied theater studies , general and comparative literature, and communication and media studies at the University of Leipzig , completing a Magistra Artium .

Buddeberg lives in Dresden.

In 2009 she joined the party Die Linke. From 2009 to 2015 she was a member of the state board of Die Linke Sachsen . Since 2013 she has been deputy chairwoman of the city association Die Linke Dresden. Before she became managing director of the parliamentary group Die Linke in the Dresden city council, she worked as a research assistant for Annekatrin Klepsch, member of the state parliament .

In the state elections in 2014, she ran in constituency 43 - Dresden 3 and 23rd on the state list of the Left. She succeeded in entering the Saxon state parliament via the state list.

She is a gender equality and queer political spokeswoman and was deputy chairwoman of the Die Linke parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament until she was elected parliamentary director of the parliamentary group. She succeeds Sebastian Scheel , who became the new State Secretary for Housing in Berlin.

In the 6th electoral period from 2014 to 2019, Buddeberg sat for her parliamentary group in the committees for social affairs, consumer protection, equality and integration as well as rules of procedure and immunity matters (deputy chairwoman). She was also a deputy member of the 1st Investigation Committee (NSU). In addition, she was appointed to the board of trustees of the state center for political education in Saxony as a replacement for the resigned Falk Neubert .

At the state representative assembly of Left Saxony on 13./14. April 2019 Buddeberg was elected to 6th place on the left state list. In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , the left won 14 seats and Buddeberg also moved back into the Saxon state parliament. She was also elected parliamentary manager by her parliamentary group in the 7th electoral term and is thus deputy group leader. In the 7th electoral term Buddeberg is responsible in her parliamentary group for the issues of equality, queer and inclusion. In the 7th Saxon State Parliament, Buddeberg is a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and Law, Democracy, Europe and Equality, as well as the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Immunity Matters .

Sarah Buddeberg runs an open office for members of the Bundestag and local authority, WIR AG, in the Neustadt district of Dresden , which serves as a point of contact and contact point for extra-parliamentary movements, the party and the interested public.
