Sarah Esser

Sarah Esser (born May 16, 1977 in Münster ) is a German sculptor and illustrator.

Life

Enthusiastic about a trip to France, Sarah Esser moved to Paris in 1996. After studying language, she began studying art history and archeology at the Sorbonne in 1997 . There she was accepted into the class of the sculptor Charles Auffret at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. In 1998 she was accepted into the sculpture class of Arlette Giniouxs and worked in the painting class of Pascal Virnadel.

In 1999 Sarah Esser moved to the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art , where she studied with Berndt Wilde. Further study trips took her to Florence, to the Universitá per Stranieri di Perugia and to Bologna. In 2004 she successfully completed her studies. A year later, Sarah Esser became a master student with Berndt Wilde at the Art Academy Berlin-Weißensee, department of sculpture. From 2009 to 2011 she held a teaching position at this university.

Sarah Esser lives and works in Berlin and Paris.
