Sarah Pelican
Sarah Pelikan (* 1947 in Immenstadt im Allgäu ) is an artist.
Life
Sarah Pelikan was born in Immenstadt in the Allgäu in 1947. After an apprenticeship as a glass and porcelain painter and attending the state technical school in Kaufbeuren - Neugablonz from 1964 to 1967, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1968 to 1974 . She has lived in Wuppertal since 1995 .
She was married to Tönis Käo (1940-2016), a professor of industrial design.
Work style
Sarah Pelikan paints with acrylic paints and has worked a lot with Formica since the 1980s . In her work intensely colored color plate spaces or pictures emerge, whereby the shape and size of the colored areas are design elements in the same way.
