Sodium N -lauroyl sarcosinate

In contrast to SDS, the sodium salt of N- lauroyl sarcosine (sodium N- lauroyl sarcosinate, Sarkosyl NL ) has good solubility in chaotropic high-salt solutions and is therefore the detergent of choice in cell lysis buffers containing guanidinium .

Sodium N -lauroyl sarcosinate is classified as toxic and corrosive. Its solubility in water is 293 g · l −1 at 20 ° C.
