Isao Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 勲 , Satō Isao ; * 1963 ) is a Japanese astronomer and asteroid discoverer .
His main area of work is eclipses . In 1991 he made the first photographic observation of the overlay of Alhena by the asteroid (381) Myrrha . His work led to the discovery of a total of five asteroids between 1994 and 1996.
The asteroid (6338) Isaosato was named after him.
