Satellite Paging System Austria
The Satellite Paging System Austria is a digital network for radio message receivers (pagers) in eastern Austria .
The network was set up and operated by 144 Notruf Niederösterreich (formerly LEBIG) between 2005 and 2009 . With the decision of the Lower Austrian provincial government Pröll V on December 1, 2009, the alarm network was taken over by the Office of the Lower Austrian provincial government, Department IVW 4, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection, and operated from this point on.
The system supplier is the Swiss company Swissphone .
The alarm data is transmitted directly to the base stations via satellite links, which then synchronously forward the alarm in the 2-meter band nationwide in POCSAG format to the alarm recipients .
The parallel use of two separate network systems in the alarm center makes the alarm disaster-proof. All network components in the alarm center and the data lines are redundantly protected. Two independent uplink stations to the satellite are set up. If the satellite fails or deviates from orbit, a second satellite is available as a backup . The signal is reversed and sent out at the same frequency as the original satellite. The locations of the base stations were chosen in such a way that the coverage zones overlap, so that if one base station fails, the neighboring base stations still provide basic coverage.

In Lower Austria : Red Cross , Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund , volunteer fire brigade , ÖAMTC - air rescue , rescue dogs , partly water rescue , 144 Lower Austria emergency number , Austrian mountain rescue service , first responder doctor | doctors and managers.
In Vienna : Wiener Berufsrettung (MA70) including their managers, first responders at the friendly rescue organizations "Four for Vienna" and the social medical service.
An additional notification system of the Austrian Red Cross is the SMS -based INOTIF .
