The 640 m high Sauhügel belongs to the municipality of Stadlern in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf , Bavaria . The village of Schwarzach is located on its north, east and south slopes .
The sow hill forms a round meadow crest with only a few bushes and fruit trees. It enables a wide view of the surrounding mountains to the north, east and south.
To the north you can see the Reichenstein , the Weingartenfels with the Bohemian Forest Tower and the Great Rock , part of the Bernstein Ridge in the Czech Republic .
In the southeast of the Sauhügel the peak of the Hirschstein rises , in the east the hump of the Lissaberges . The Pivoňské hory, located on the eastern bank of the Radbuza, stretches to the northeast .
Below the eastern slope of the Sauhügel, the Bavarian Schwarzach flows from north to south.
