Sauli Kemppainen

Sauli Kemppainen (born December 23, 1968 in Oulu , Finland ) is a Finnish chef.

Career

After training, culinary school and master's examination in Finland, Kemppainen went to the Savoy in Helsinki and then to Margaux with Michael Hoffmann in Berlin . Then he moved to the three-star restaurant Dieter Müller in Bergisch Gladbach , followed by Tristan under Gerhard Schwaiger on Mallorca . He then moved to the three-star Fat Duck restaurant at Heston Blumenthal in Berkshire .

From 2009 he was head chef in the restaurant Die Quadriga in the Hotel Brandenburger Hof in Berlin, where he was awarded a Michelin star. It received 17 points in Gault Millau 2012. As a co-founder of New Nordic Cuisine , he used many Finnish ingredients. In August 2012, he left The Quadriga . After that he worked in Moscow. Kemppainen will return to Berlin in 2018. The opening of the SAVU restaurant in the Hotel Louisa's Place has been announced for April 2018.
