Course and geology
The Saumer rises in the peasantry Saumer east of Löwendorf southwest of the dog mountain , flows north to Fuerstenau over, flows through Bödexen and flows Albaxen into the Weser . The source is on the border of the Lower and Middle Keuper . At Bödexen, several streams flow into the Saumer, including the Mühlenbach. From Bödexen the Saumer cuts into the Upper Muschelkalk and later into the Middle Muschelkalk. At the level of the Brettmühle - one of three mills located between Bödexen and Albaxen - a valley cover of loess loam sets in .
In the upper area, this stream is designated as a small valley flood stream and in the lower area as a shell limestone stream .
history
The Saumer spring was already used as a settlement site in the Middle Ages - a medieval village called Cothun or Kotten has been handed down. The Saumer settlement, which still exists today as a peasantry, was given in 1375 as the uppe der Summere ; later traditions speak of Sammere and Samer .
