Saves the Day is an American band from New Jersey .

history

When it was founded in the mid-1990s, Saves the Day consisted of Chris Conley, Anthony Anastacio, Justin Gaylord, Sean McGrath and Bryan Newman. The first songs they wrote weren't released until 2003 on the album Ups & Downs: Early Recordings and B-Sides . Their first official CD release was Can't Slow Down on the Equal Vision Records label , where they stayed until the release of their album Stay What You Are . After Can't Slow Down , Saves the Day released their six-song acoustic album I'm Sorry I'm Leaving , which includes a Modern English cover ( I melt with you ). They recorded this album without their two guitarists Anthony Anastacio and Justin Gaylord. Instead, the singer Christopher Conley played the acoustic guitar. On the next album, Through Being Cool , the guitarists left the band for good and were replaced by Ted Alexander (guitar) and Dave Soloway (guitar, backing vocals).

During the production of their next album, Stay What You Are , they deviated a little from their style, which was previously described as emo - punk , to a more indie-influenced emo direction. They also switched their record label from Equal Vision Records to Vagrant Records with this album . The new album also included music videos on MTV and MTV2 as well as appearances as an opener for blink-182 and Green Day . After Stay What You Are there were some personnel changes again. The current composition came about.

For the development of their next album, the four made a pilgrimage to California , where they worked on their album for several months. It had never taken her more than a few weeks for her other albums.

The album, Ups & Downs: Early Recordings and B-Sides , which was intended as a compilation , was then released and contains B-sides , live recordings and newly produced songs that are no longer available on sound carriers.

In 2006, In Reverie's successor , Sound The Alarm, was released . According to the band, the album is the first part of a trilogy about self-discovery. The second album of the trilogy, Under The Boards , was released in 2007. The third part, Daybreak, followed in 2011.
