The Sawadi Islands ( Arabic جزر السّوادي, DMG Ǧuzur as-Sawādī ), not to be confused with the Djiboutian Sawabi Islands , are a small chain of islands belonging to Oman around 600 meters north of the eponymous headland Ras Sawadi on the al-Batina coast west of the city of Barka . The seven islands extend over a length of 3200 meters. The western end of the ad-Dimaniyat Islands is around 17 kilometers northeast.

geography

There is also an observation tower on the highest elevation, just 60 meters from the steep drop to the coast 120 meters away. There is a helipad next to the tower . The island reaches a height of 87 meters, while the remaining six islands in the group are between 15 and 37 meters high. The area of the islands varies between 800 square meters (0.08 hectares) and 21 hectares.
