The Sayyad-2 ( German for 'Jäger 2') is a medium-range anti-aircraft missile made in Iran and presented to the public in 2013. It was first mentioned in military circles in April 2011.

The Sayyad-2 missile is intended as a more modern replacement for the Sayyad-1 anti-aircraft missile, which was also designed to combat medium-range air targets. According to the Iranian Defense Minister Hosein Dehqan, Sayyad-2 is supposed to be more precise and, on top of that , be able to fight more reliable targets with small radar cross- sections . According to Dehqan, this missile can be used to effectively combat various types of cruise missiles , bombers , drones and military helicopters . According to his statements, the missile reaches a speed of 1200 m / s and has a warhead with a mass of 200 kg. The range of the missile should - like the standard Missile 1 system  - be about 40 kilometers. In fact, outwardly, the anti-aircraft missile appears to be largely based on the American Standard Missile 1 , which was developed in the 1960s. These missiles were brought into the country before the Iranian Revolution. More detailed technical information about the Sayyad-2 is not known. The missile's control and targeting system is also largely unknown. Dehqan stated that the guided missile is used in the Talash air defense system, which is said to be in production. It is unclear which radar system is used for target location and guidance. It is believed that Russian or Chinese systems are used for this purpose. According to Iranian military personnel, the Sayyad-2 anti-aircraft missiles can only be seen in the medium term as a supplement to the Soviet long-range S-200 air defense system .

A missile derived from the Sayyad-2 missile is the Sayyad-3 anti-aircraft missile , which was designed for ranges of up to 200 km.

The Iranian anti-aircraft missile system Bavar-373 , unveiled on August 22, 2019, Iranian Defense Industry Day, uses the Sayyad-4 guided missile with a range of 200 km to engage fighter jets , drones , cruise missiles and ballistic missiles . It is considered to be the most powerful Iranian anti-aircraft missile to date.
