Scanner is a German power metal band from North Rhine-Westphalia that was founded in 1986.
Band history
From the band Lions Breed (album: Damn the Night , Earthshaker Label / Mausoleum Records ), the band Scanner emerged in 1986 by renaming. Scanner got a new recording contract with Noise Records in 1988 and released her debut album Hypertrace that same year . In 1989 the second album Terminal Earth followed , this time with the former Angel Dust singer SL Coe. After separating from the old record company, the third album, Mental Reservation , was released in 1995 by the record company Massacre Records , this time with a completely new line-up, apart from guitarist Axel Julius. In 1997 the fourth album Ball of the Damned was released , with ex- Gamma Ray / Primal Fear singer Ralf Scheepers as a guest singer. A European tour followed, on which Scanner were on the road with the support act Unrest . In 2002 the fifth studio album Scantropolis was released. In 2015 the band released their sixth studio album called The Judgment . In March 2019 the Bottrop-based Ted Hetfield aka Patrick Donath (Wicked Disciple) replaced the retired Andreas Zeidler
