Schönbeker Moor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schönbeker Moor (also Great Moor ) is a moor in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district . It forms the border between Loop (Holstein) and Schönbek . The raised bog was used to extract peat . The area was free of municipalities until 1888 and was incorporated into Dätgen , Loop and Schönbek in the same year .

The Höllenau and the Olendieksau , which flow into the Brahmsee , arise in the Schönbeker Moor . Thus the moor lies on the watershed between the river system of the Stör and the Wehrau , which today flows into the Kiel Canal and formerly flowed into the Eider .
