Schönberg is a district of the municipality of Breitenberg and a district in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau . The village is about three kilometers southwest of Breitenberg.

history

The place in the former bishopric of Passau fell with the secularization of 1803 with most of the high bishopric area to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany and only came to Bavaria in 1805. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the community of Schönberg was created with the community edict of 1818 . In addition to Schönberg, it included the towns of Gegenbach, Jägerbild, Jägersteig, Obernstein, Sonningersteig, Spiesbrunn and Tiefleiten. On January 1, 1971, this previously independent community was incorporated into Breitenberg. On April 1, 1971, Gollnerberg was added. Gegenbach followed on January 1, 1972.
