The Petershörn pumping station drains the approximately 33,100 hectare association area of ​​the Sielacht Bockhorn-Friedeburg via the Dangaster Tief in the Jade Bay .

Building

The pumping station was built in Petersgroden from 1959 to 1962 and stands on a 7–11 m deep pile foundation made of 900 wooden piles. It is equipped with four paddle pumps, which together can deliver 48 m³ / s. The technology was completely renewed between 2010 and 2012 and an extensive monitoring and control function was retrofitted. Since then, the Hiddels , Sanderahm , Güstfenne , Gooseschloot and Kalbschloot pumping stations can be remotely controlled centrally from the control station of the Petershörn pumping station.

Catchment area

The Bockhorn and Zetel communities , large areas of Friedeburg and parts of Sande , Westerstede , Wiesmoor and Varel belong to the association area of ​​the Sielacht Bockhorn-Friedeburg . The surface water is supplied via the Friedeburger Tief and Ellenserdammer Tief and their tributaries.
