The 2012/13 season of the Swiss Bundesliga in chess saw a duel for the title between the chess club Réti Zurich and SC Lyss-Seeland , which the Zurich team won thanks to the victory. The defending champion ASK Winterthur ended up in fourth place. Three teams rose from the 2nd Bundesliga due to two withdrawals after the 2011/12 season: SG Riehen , SC Bodan and SC Kirchberg . While Bodan and Kirchberg achieved relegation, Riehen had to relegate directly. For the reported team squads of the participating clubs seeTeam squad of the Swiss 1st Bundesliga in chess 2012/13 .
