The 2012/13 season of the Swiss Bundesliga in chess saw a duel for the title between the chess club Réti Zurich and SC Lyss-Seeland , which the Zurich team won thanks to the victory. The defending champion ASK Winterthur ended up in fourth place. Three teams rose from the 2nd Bundesliga due to two withdrawals after the 2011/12 season: SG Riehen , SC Bodan and SC Kirchberg . For the promotion game taking place on June 1, the winners of the two second division seasons qualified with Cercle d'échecs de Nyon and SC Gonzen . Nyon won the competition 4½: 3½ and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga.
