Schalchen is a hamlet in the political community of Wildberg ( Pfäffikon district ) in the Swiss canton of Zurich .
The three former civil parishes of Wildberg, Schalchen and Ehrikon merged in the 1930s to form the political community of Wildberg. In the early Middle Ages, Schalchen was called Scalchunmaracha and probably also Scalchon, district and farm of a servant. A wealthy landowner had probably left his farm in the village to a servant as a tenant.
The coat of arms of Schalchen goes back to the "Herren von Schalken", servants of the Counts of Kyburg , and shows deer antlers in different colors in the silver / red-split shield. Walter, Knight von Schalken, is considered the founder of the Wildberg Church. In 1315 Ulrich was a donor from Duke Leopold of Austria . Hans Conrad von Schalken was pastor of Wildberg in 1378, who was in charge of his office, which is why for a long time after his death he was remembered every Sunday. The Lords of Schalken were benefactors of the Töss and Rüti monasteries .
