Schattenherz was a short-lived synth-pop - duo with singer Marianne Faithfull and music producer Dirk Riegner .

Band history

On her album Regenrhythmus (2011) Marianne Rosenberg worked with Dirk Riegner as a producer. Marianne Rosenberg, at that time stuck again on the Schlager , was looking for new ways of musical expression. Riegner, experienced as a producer of various musical styles, had a certain preference for New Wave and New Romantic . In Sweden the track Kaltes Herz was created , which was something like the initial spark for the project. This is how the Shadowheart project came about, which the record company was initially not enthusiastic about. It was only with a new product manager that the two succeeded in tackling their new project.

The two took on the aliases Victor and Victoria for the project in order to sell it to the outside world as a newcomer project and to break away from the previous brands. The two recorded the album Das Leben ist schön together , which was released on October 18, 2013 via Edel Records . The single Alles klingt von dir was released in September . The album reached number 94 in the German album charts.

On March 21, 2014, the project announced that it would take a break for an indefinite period.

Music genre

Musically, the project approached the 1980s New Wave and Synth Pop . Rosenberg liked to describe the music as "Mystic Glam Pop". The lyrics are mainly in German, but there are also two tracks in English and one in French on the album. The music was often compared with Peter Heppner and 2Raumwohnung .
