The agapanthia villosoviridescens ( Agapanthia villosoviridescens ) even nettle Bock or Linienhalsige Halmbock called, is a species of beetle from the family of longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae).
features
The beetles are 10 to 23 millimeters long. The head and pronotum are black and yellow striped lengthways. The elytra are finely grained yellow and gray. The antennae are body length and alternately gray and black.
Occurrence
They live in Central and Southern Europe , in the Caucasus and Siberia on the edges of mixed coniferous forests, mountain meadows and forest paths, but also on railway embankments.
Way of life
The beetles live mainly on nettles , thistles and umbellifers . The larvae develop in the stems of these plants. They overwinter there and only pupate in spring. The beetles hatch in May.
