The young Fritz is madly in love with the pretty Lilly. But there is a problem, because the imperious aunt Johanna decides the weal and woe of the girl. Fritz has a brilliant idea: In order to put the old woman, who will soon be 60, mild and to get approval for a marriage, Fritz plans to buy a Chinese vase at an auction that he wants to give to the strict aunt for her birthday. No sooner said than done, but then the precious gift falls over, and Fritz's hope for Lilly is also shattered. But things finally turn out to be good, because as the saying goes: broken pieces bring luck!
