Ship element

As ship elements the design of major components are ships or other vessels referred. The term essentially includes the keel , double bottom , bow , stern , deck , outer skin , bulkheads , bunker and cargo tanks, cargo hatches , deck superstructures , etc. (→  ship # structure ). In addition to the main structural assemblies, the term includes the components from which they are put together.

In addition to the ship elements, a ship is structurally made up of the two large groups of ship equipment and ship furnishings .
