The Schillerkopf is a 2006 m high mountain in the Rätikon in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg . It is located in the northern area of the Fundelkopf Group . The summit can be accessed from two sides via the "Tälisteig". The route is marked white and blue and is considered difficult within the hiking categories .
The name Schillerkopf is related to the shape of the mountain profile. Seen from the northeast, the rock massif is reminiscent of a facial profile. Due to the large nose, which is supposed to resemble that of Friedrich Schiller , the mountain was renamed from Kessikopf to Schillerkopf . The “tip of the nose” is also the highest point, this is where the summit cross is located .
The Schillerkopf has Vorarlberg's largest sinkhole - the “Kessiloch” is around 300 meters in diameter and 100 meters deep.
