The battle on Schoppendamm took place near Loitz during the Second War of the Rügen Succession in 1351 .

Prehistory and course

After the negotiations and armed conflicts had dragged on since 1340, the deadline for the obligations from the Brudersdorf Peace of 1328 because of Rügen between Mecklenburg and Pomerania, the Danish king was used as a mediator - in vain. Now the guns have to say the last word. The 2nd War of Succession between Mecklenburg and Pomerania began in 1351 because of the Rügen inheritance. The Mecklenburgers moved against Loitz.
