In the Battle of Loděnice on January 23, 1179 in Bohemia , Soběslav II , Duke of Bohemia and Landgrave of Moravia , won against Bedřich , who claimed the title of Duke of Bohemia. The battle took place near Loděnice on the stream of the same name in Bohemia.

Course of the battle

It was very cold, and Soběslav is said to have surprised Bedřich because the guards were not alert enough. Bedrich managed to escape. In another battle on January 27, 1179 near Prague's New Town , Bedřich finally triumphed over Soběslav.
