The Battle of Pavia was fought in 271 near what is now Pavia in Italy between the Alamanni and the Romans under Emperor Aurelian .
Aurelian advanced with an army against Alemannic Juthungen , who were in retreat after an invasion of Italy. In the fighting, the entire Alemannic army was destroyed by Aurelian.
