The Schlaitenbach is a brook in the municipality of Schlaiten ( Lienz district ). It rises on the northeast side of the Villgraten Mountains and flows north of Schlaiten into the Isel .

The Schlaitenbach rises north-east of the Schlaitner Kofel and Lavantegg and flows in a north-easterly direction through the Ausserwald and past between the Schlaiter Alm and Gantschniginfang. Between the Bacherdorf on the left and the Mesnerdorf on the right , the stream emerges from the closed forest area and then flows northwest past the main town of Schlaiten. The Schlaitenbach finally flows north of Schlaiten or Zajach on the right side into the Isel.
Schlaitenbach power plant
The Schlaitenbach power plant was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is one of the oldest power plants in East Tyrol. It supplied the community of Schlaiten with electricity for the first time and today, as a private power plant, supplies the owners' residential and farm buildings. Planning for the modernization of the power plant began in 2011, and the permit for the conversion was granted in 2015.
