The Midgard snake in Hansa-Park ( Sierksdorf / Schleswig-Holstein ) is a steel roller coaster from the Family Coaster model from Gerstlauer Amusement Rides , which was opened on April 15, 2011. The roller coaster, which is specially designed for children, has a detailed theming based on a Viking story and has trains specially designed for children.
journey
After the passengers have boarded the train, designed as a Viking ship, the car group leaves the station, but remains in the building complex. In a left curve in front of the 10 meter high chain lift, which is disguised as a tower from the outside, the train stops so that the passengers can listen to an animatronic from Calren Media GmbH, which tells a story of a legendary dragon ship. After the train has climbed the chain lift hill, it drives outside and down the 10-meter-high left-sloping descent. After the descent, which leads through a shed, there is a left-sloping hill that ends in a long 270 ° left-hand bend. There follows a small hill over the previously traveled route and a 180 ° left curve back to the station. Since the course mentioned is relatively short, it is run through twice.
particularities
The Midgard snake is the first family coaster from Gerstlauer to feature a special car design for children. Thanks to special seat shells and brackets, it is possible for children who are only one meter tall to ride. As was already the case with the Curse of Novgorod , the detailed Viking theme tells its own story about the trip.
