Schlapps und Schlumbo is a story- song radio play , the texts of which Monika Ehrhardt wrote; The composition, vocals and instruments are from Reinhard Lakomy . The songs are sung by Reinhard Lakomy and the sparrow choir of the pioneer house "German Titow".

The two house slippers Schlapps and Schlumbo no longer feel comfortable on their cozy sofa at home because they no longer have enough space for two. So they decide to travel to “Much Betterland” and buy a “nicer, bigger, generally much better” cuddly sofa there. On their way with their paramecium, they jump on a truck that transports them from their house to a nearby mountain. This is where the forest begins, where "Mr. Specht" wants to sell you a wooden sofa, which they refuse. Then they come to a field in which a field mouse is baking rolls and wants to sell them a straw sofa. However, since they sink into it, they also reject this. With Schlumbo's "sailing pot" they sail across a body of water, always moving around the mountain. In a strong storm, however, the sail pot sinks and the slippers make the acquaintance of the "blue carp". This one has a mud sofa, which is also not what the two shoes want. When they come to light again, they get to know the "little cactus". Then they get into a cave, where they discover a treasure with the help of the "Butzelmann". It is a golden cuddly sofa, which is only intended as jewelry, not for cuddling. Later they come to autumn, then winter. After crossing the land of spring, they find that they have walked around the whole mountain once. Then they try to climb the mountain. There they sit in the clouds and believe that they have found the cozy sofa they are looking for. However, when the clouds dissolve, they fall right in front of their house and conclude from the story that their cozy sofa is the best and they don't need anything else.
