Monika Ehrhardt (born  September 18, 1947 in Oßmannstedt ; actually Monika Ehrhardt-Lakomy ) is a German writer and copywriter who, together with her husband, the composer Reinhard Lakomy , produced a series of radio plays and radio play musicals. The couple's best-known works include productions in the German Democratic Republic from the 1980s such as Der Traumzauberbaum . Monika Ehrhardt lives in Berlin-Blankenburg and continues to work as a writer.

life and work

After finishing school, Monika Ehrhardt learned the profession of dancer and from 1964 to 1969 she studied classical stage dance at the State Ballet School in Berlin . She worked as a dancer from 1969 to 1981, while at the same time she initially completed a distance learning course in cultural studies and was active as a writer and copywriter.

In 1977 Monika Ehrhardt married the musician Reinhard Lakomy , but continued to work under her maiden name. In 1978 she published her first texts, in the same year she produced her first play in East Berlin . From 1978 to 1991, together with her husband, who composed the music, she produced all of the children's revues in the Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin , as well as numerous pieces for music theater and television productions. In 1980 both produced their greatest success to date with the radio play musical Der Traumzauberbaum . In 1981 she was accepted into the GDR Writers' Association. She gave birth to her daughter Klara Johanna Lakomy in 1984. In 1986 she became a deputy of the city council elected Berlin.

Even after the dissolution of the GDR, Monika Ehrhardt worked as a writer and continued to produce radio play musicals for children with her husband. From 1990 to 1992 she conceived several television programs and was the screenwriter of three films from the series Die Gespenster von Flatterfels . In 1991 she became a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) and was deputy chairwoman of VS Berlin from 2000 to 2014. In 2001 she was also appointed Vice-President of the Delphic Council of Germany and in 2002 she was appointed to the International Presidium for the Dialogue between Religions and Cultures based in Nicosia , Cyprus . Since 2003 she has been President of the National Delphic Council Germany.
