Schlatt [ (d̥ər) ʒ̊lɑtˑ ] is the name of the lower Schärlig in the Entlebucher community Escholzmatt-Marbach nearby hallway . There are several farms on the gently sloping valley floor to the right of the Schärligbach , which is overshadowed by the Guggchnubel here and meets the Binnzberg in the southeast ; on the opposite, wooded side, a little behind the exit of a small side valley, lies the Sunnsitli .

Names

The place is first documented in 1329 (a Johanne "usserm Slatte ") . The name is widespread with the meaning ‹slope, subsidence›, a connection with the Swiss German Schlatt n. ‹Scattered grass, large-leaved plant› as a symbol for swampy ground is possible.

The distinction between Ober Schlatt ( Das Gůtt Im ober Schlat ... Item Buger Hanns Gitt from the Ober gůtt Im Schlatt ... Vacht an, if at the Bůch tschachen and Gadt after all ; bad at the Oberen Schlat ) and Nider Schlatt (An die weÿd Im nidern Schlatt ... an die Mattann Im Nidern Schlatt ) , called Under Schlatt since the 17th century (My ... Hooff and well named in the other Schlatt ... Stosst ... an Hooff in the ground) ; For the 18th century, the designations Mittler / -st Schlatt and Hinder Schlatt are documented (1765 Mein Ehefrouwen heim know that Mitler schlat güötlÿ ; 1789 mine home and güötli Im Mitlesten schlat named (bumps) to the hinder schlat guot ).

The Sunnsitli first appeared in 1801 as son siten Weidli , from 1825 as Schlatt Sonnsitten Weidli ; it certainly got its name from its sunny location on the southern slope.
