history

In the building, which was built at the end of the 19th century on what was then Wilhelmstrasse (today ul. Zwycięstwa), you can find elements of neo-renaissance and neo-baroque .

The “Schlesischer Hof” hotel opened in the building in 1897. After its opening, the hotel was one of the most famous hotels in the city. The interiors were redesigned several times over the next few years. In 1905 electrical lighting was installed, the restaurant room was enlarged and a new corner entrance was created for the restaurant. In the 1930s, a shoe store was opened after the ground floor was redesigned.

After 1945 the hotel became the “Myśliwski” hotel and later the “Diament” hotel. For a while, a Pizza Hut chain restaurant was on the ground floor .

The Schlesischer Hof is located directly on the Klodnitz . The IKAR office building and the Upper Silesia House with the fountain with dancing faunas are located near the Schlesischer Hof .
