Atzlricht Castle
The Castle Atzlricht is a abgegangenes Castle in the village of Atzlricht the Upper Palatinate town of Amberg of Bavaria . The castle, assessed as dilapidated, was demolished in 1975.
history
Atzlrich was a first tarsuple . Paulus Schwetzel is mentioned as the first owner of Atzlricht around 1500. He was followed in 1525 by the electoral councilor and rentmaster Caspar Hönhammer, who also held Gärbershof Castle and Spitz Castle in Ammerthal . After his death († 1548) his widow Margaretha, née Black; then Caspar Berthold Hönhammer in 1556 and Urban Höhnhammer von Gärbershof in 1558. Then followed in 1608 his brother-in-law, Zacharias von Erckenbrechtshausen. In 1605, Christoph Krazer and his sister Anna Felizitas, the wife of Zacharias von Erckenbrechtshausen, are mentioned here. In 1613, Dr. Walter Steinhauser vom Gärbershof, Johaneta Countess von Ortenburg in 1617 and Andre Reitmor in 1629 as the owner.
In the 17th century Atzlrich came to the Gobel von Hofgiebing family ; Franz Albrecht Freiherr von Gobel donated the still existing subsidiary church of Maria Schnee in Atzlricht. It was not until April 27, 1702, that Atzlricht Castle was raised to the status of a country seat and came into the possession of Christian and Wilhelm Gobel, the sons of the district judge Franz Albert Gobel. In 1715, the district judge Christian Wilhelm Gobel and in 1748 his brother, the elector chamberlain Franz Chrostoph von Gobel, owned the estate. He married the widow of Wilhelm von Merz, Hofmarkherr von Ammerthal. Their son Anton Maria Josef von Gobel was born in Oberammernthal on October 21, 1749.
The Hofmark was dissolved in the 19th century and the Gobel goods were auctioned on December 30, 1823. The castle building was demolished in 1975 because it was supposed to be in disrepair, and today a farmhouse stands in its place.
Construction
The disused castle building was a two-story hipped roof building . The coat of arms of the district judge Franz Albert Gobel von Hofgiebing was located above the entrance area.
