Bellevue Palace (Saalburg-Ebersdorf)
The Bellevue Palace stands between Ebersdorf and Schönbrunn at the former country road L1095 in Saale-Orla in Thuringia .
history
The small castle was built in 1783 by Count Heinrich XXXV. Reuss built in neoclassical style on the highest elevation in the shape of a temple on the road from Schönbrunn via Ebersdorf and to Lobenstein. There you had the most beautiful view. This new road was to blame that the old trade route over the "Green Donkey" lost its importance. They were planted with linden trees . These linden trees still shape the townscape of Schönbrunn today.
Today the castle stands as a traffic island in the middle of the main road between Ebersdorf and Schönbrunn and offers a distant view of the Fichtelgebirge , the Franconian Forest , the Schneeberg and Ochsenkopf . Externally renovated, the palace is currently empty.
