Carhaben Castle was a mansion of the von Dohna-Carimmern family in Karwiny . Apart from a few remains, it was destroyed in the Second World War.

history

In 1333, Colonel Spittler and Komtur von Elbing , Siegfried von Sitten, was awarded five hooves on culmic law. In 1496, Count Stanislaus von Dohna (1433–1504) was made a pawnbrokerage to Car bindings. His sons received it as a fief in 1514. Achatius von Dohna (1533–1619) had the Karwind Castle built in 1588 for his brother Fabian I von Dohna . In 1660, Christoph Delphicus von Dohna had it converted into a more comfortable mansion in order to be able to receive the Great Elector appropriately. Friedrich Ludwig zu Dohna-Carwind added the house from 1713 to 1715 with the help of John von Collas . In 1945 the most valuable parts of the silver library were moved to the castle and were lost until 2017. The Dohna family owned the property until 1945. Karwind Castle was destroyed during the war in 1945 and then demolished. There is only one building at the entrance of the entrance to Gut Karimmern, a so-called circular building, which is used as a residential building.
