Porter's house, also protected as a monument

The Château de Dampierre in Anzin , a French town in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France , was built in the late 19th century. The castle with the address 41 to boulevard Dampierre was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 2009 as Monument historique .

The so-called castle, which could also be called a villa , was commissioned by the Compagnie des mines d'Anzin to give the directors of the mining company, which at the time had up to 20,000 employees, a representative residence.

The two-storey building in the neo-renaissance style made of brick with corner blocks and window frames made of stone is reminiscent of the castles of the 18th century. The mansard roof has ornately designed windows. The double staircase that leads to the entrance is enhanced by a completely closed glass building in the style of a winter garden. An extensive park was created around the castle.

The building that was bought by the city of Anzin is used for events.
