Valentin Wernz (born January 6, 1995 in Spaichingen ) is a German triathlete . He is German triathlon champion in the junior and elite area and also European and vice world champion with the relay.

Career

Valentin Wernz started his first triathlon competitions in 2009 and was accepted into the DC national team in 2012.

In June 2014 he was the European Junior Champion in a team sprint with the German team (with Lena Meißner , Lasse Lührs and Laura Lindemann ) at the European Triathlon Championships in Kitzbühel, Austria . In July he became the German Junior Triathlon Champion.

In March 2019, the 24-year-old won his first medal in Australia with bronze in the Triathlon World Cup (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running). In August he became German champion on the triathlon sprint distance in Berlin.

He is trained by Christian Weimer and Daniel Unger . Valentin Wernz lives in Saarbrücken .
