Vincent Ansquer

Vincent Félix Jean-Marie Ansquer (born January 11, 1925 in Treize-Septiers , Département Vendée , † June 1, 1987 in Levallois-Perret , Département Hauts-de-Seine ) was a French politician of the Union pour la Nouvelle République-Union Démocratique du Travail (UNR-UDT) and most recently the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR), which was a member of the National Assembly and a member of the European Parliament . He was also President of the Regional Council of the Pays de la Loire Region in 1974, Minister for Trade and Crafts between 1974 and 1976 and Minister for Quality of Life from 1976 to 1977.

Vincent Ansquer joined the administration of the colonies and overseas territories in 1946 and was commercial attaché in French Guinea between 1946 and 1952 . He was then director and most recently managing director of Etablissements Chaudière , a shoe factory based in La Bruffière . On December 6, 1962, he became a member of the National Assembly for the Vendée department for the first time and represented the Union pour la Nouvelle République-Union Démocratique du Travail (UNR-UDT) and the subsequent parties Union des Démocrates pour la Ve until June 28, 1974 République (UDR) and Union pour la défense de la République (UDR). In March 1965 he also became mayor of La Bruffière and held this office until March 1977. He also became a member of the General Council of the Vendée Department in 1969 , where he represented the canton of Montaigu until his death in 1987 . In January 1974 he was also the first president of the regional council of the Pays de la Loire region , but was replaced by Olivier Guichard in October 1974 .

On May 27, 1974, Ansquer took over the office of Minister for Trade and Crafts (Ministre du commerce et de l'artisanat) in the Chirac I cabinet and held this office until August 25, 1976. In the Barre I cabinet that followed , he served between 28 August 1976 and March 30, 1977 as Minister for Quality of Life (Ministre de la qualité de la vie) .

On April 3, 1978 Vincent Ansquer was again a member of the National Assembly for the Vendée department and represented the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR) in this until his death . At the same time he became a member of the European Parliament as a representative of the National Assembly . In the European elections on June 10, 1979 , he was finally elected a member of the 1st European Parliament and was a member of it until 1984.
