The Hardisleben Castle was the predecessor of today standing hunting lodge in Hardisleben in district Sömmerda in Thuringia .

history

During the fire in 1679 that fell village , and the water tower and the Vorwerk the flames victims. Around 1700 Duke Johann Ernst III. von Sachsen-Weimar had the moated castle built into his wife's pleasure palace . After the Duchess' death in 1738, the summer residence was converted into a hunting lodge.

Only after 1945, except for the heavily damaged Princely House, were all other buildings demolished on the orders of the land reform . After the renovation and the demolition of the other buildings, the Princely House presents itself again in a ring of wall and moat. The main entrance can be reached via a bridge.
