The castle portal in the small castle courtyard in Dresden is a portal in the small castle courtyard of the Dresden Residence . The portal built by Johann Georg Starcke in 1682 is one of the examples of the “great portal architecture of Dresden” . This portal forms the other side of the palace portal from the large to the small courtyard .

description

The portal is a round arch in rustica . The large keystone shows the motto of the builder Johann Georg III. The round arch presented shows a cranked cornice and is decorated with festoons on both sides . Above is a cornice with a balcony, which has a wrought iron grille as a parapet. A door flanked by two windows leads to this balcony. The door has a beautiful window frame with pilasters on both sides . Above the window there is a segment gable as a window canopy .
