Vito Wormgoor (pronunciation: [ ˈvɪ.to ˈʋɔrm.ˌɣʊːr ]) (born November 16, 1988 in Leersum ) is a Dutch football player . He currently plays for the Norwegian club Brann Bergen .

Career

society

Wormgoor played in his youth at the amateur clubs HDS Den Haag and Door Ons Vrienden Opgericht , before he was spotted by the scouts of the AFC Ajax and brought to their junior boarding school in Amsterdam in 2006. The defensive player played there for two years and should slip into the Amsterdam A-team in 2008/09. But in the end, FC Utrecht secured the services of Wormgoors and lured him from the Ajax school into the professional squad of FCU . The transfer was announced on September 2, 2008. It was previously announced that Wormgoor had stolen 150 euros from his junior colleague Edgar Manucharyan , which he allegedly owed him. Ajax drew conclusions and resigned the defender, so that the way to Utrecht was free. On September 14, 2008 he made his debut in the Eredivisie against FC Groningen . More games were added by the end of the season, but he did not make the breakthrough yet. For the 2009/10 season he moved to the then second division team De Graafschap . Here he made the breakthrough, came to 30 games and scored two goals. In the end, the club was the first to be promoted to the Eredivisie. At the end of the 2011/12 season De Graafschap was relegated, Wormgoor moved to ADO Den Haag , with whom he had already signed a four-year contract from the new season in March 2012.

National team

Wormgoor was a junior national player of the Netherlands. In 2009 he was appointed to the U-21 squad for the Toulon tournament.
