Eloy Victor Room (born February 6, 1989 in Nijmegen ) is a Dutch football player from Curacao who is used as a goalkeeper . He is currently under contract with Columbus Crew .
Career
society
Already in his youth he played in the joint U-19 of Vitesse Arnheim and AGOVV Apeldoorn . From this he went to the first team of Arnhem for the 2008/09 season. Then his first appearance he received 8 March 2009 with a game at FC Volendam , in which he was already in the 13th minute for the injured Piet Velthuizen came in to replace that of Jack Tuyp scored 1: 0 he could in 33 minutes but do not prevent which one the game should end with. From 2011 he was then also used in the second team playing in the Beloften Eredivisie . For the 2013/14 season he was then awarded for half-time to the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer , which had just been promoted back to the Eredivisie this season . In the following 20th match days, he was always between the posts. Back in Arnhem, he managed to win the Dutch Cup in the 2016/17 season , in which, apart from the round of 16, he was always on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
After this season he then moved to PSV Eindhoven . In the first division, however, he was rarely used. He spent most of his missions in the 2017/18 season with the second team. Nevertheless, he can count himself to the championship team of the 2016/17 season . After he was only used a few times in the cup in the 2018/19 season , he finally moved to the USA on July 9, 2019. Here he then joined the MLS franchise, where he was used in the current 2019 season on July 21 in the 2-1 home win against Montreal Impact .
National team
He is known to have played for the Dutch U-20 national team , but after that he only played in the senior team of Curaçao . His first appearance was a 0-0 win against Cuba in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup . In qualifying for the 2017 Caribbean Championship and the 2017 Gold Cup , he even wore the captain's armband in places.
