Christopher "Chris" Cadden (born September 19, 1996 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish football player . His twin brother Nicky Cadden plays for Livingston FC .

Career

Chris Cadden was born in the Scottish city of Bellshill , a suburb of Glasgow in 1996 . Until 2014 he played in the youth of Motherwell, only 3 km away from his hometown, for the local football club . On March 1, 2014, he made his professional debut in the Scottish Premiership against Heart of Midlothian when he came on for Lionel Ainsworth . By the end of the 2013/14 season he came under Stuart McCall to two more missions against Hibernian Edinburgh and Inverness CT . After he was only three more times in the league by January 2015, Cadden was loaned to the Albion Rovers from the Scottish League Two from March to May 2015 . With two goals in ten league games, he helped the club to win the championship and the associated promotion to the third division. After his return to Motherwell Cadden was able to fit in more and more in the lineup. From the 2016/17 season he was a regular under Mark McGhee and his successor Steve Robinson . In the 2017/18 season he reached the final of the Scottish League Cup with FC Motherwell, which was lost to the Celtic Glasgow . In 2019 he left his youth club and signed a contract with Columbus Crew from Major League Soccer . The new club from the USA loaned him directly to Oxford United .

National team

From September 2016 Cadden played in the Scottish U-21 national team . He made his senior national team debut in May 2018 .
