The Schlutuper Mühlenteich , also called Dovensee , is an artificially created pond in the Lübeck district of Schlutup in Schleswig-Holstein .
geography
The approximately 8 hectare large body of water has maximum dimensions of 550 by 230 meters. The water level is below 2.5 meters above sea level. The moat flows through the pond from south to north. The tributary coming from the Schwarzmühlenteich is also called Schwarzmühlenbach. The outflow, also known as Schlutuper Mühlenbach, flows into the Schlutuper Wiek , which is part of the course of the Trave , and is piped below the Mecklenburger Straße including the street-side buildings.
The Mühlenteich is bordered by the street Am Teich in the northwest, the Mecklenburger Straße (Kreisstraße 32) in the northeast and the Palinger Weg in the east. Most of these are built with residential houses. Close to the north bank is the closed Schlutup train station and the track system that ends there. To the south there is a sports field and grassland partly overgrown with deciduous trees.
The areas near the shore are used as public green areas with bathing areas, wet grassland in the southwest and northeast and private gardens on Palinger Weg and on the street Am Teich.
history
The body of water was artificially created by damming the Speckmoorgraben, which comes from the Speckmoor, which is about a kilometer to the southwest and which now flows into the Landgraben in front of the mill pond. The mill already existed in 1260 when the city of Lübeck acquired Schlutup and its mill. In 1506 the mill was destroyed in an attack by Duke Heinrich V of Mecklenburg in the course of the Lübeck feud . From 1704 it was converted from a grist mill to a paper mill . In 1799 the paper mill burned down again. In the 19th century, the paper mill became a sawmill that produced wooden ladders.
nature
The Muehlenteich belongs to the conservation area Schlutup having a total area of about 170 hectares. Impairments are seen through grazing with the associated damage and vegetation damage , eutrophication through the bog ditch and fishing .
