Schmachtenberg is a district of Zeil am Main in the Haßberge district in Bavaria .

geography

Schmachtenberg lies on the right bank of the Main at about 250 m above sea level. NHN southeast of the core city of Zeil, with which the district has grown together. The Schmachtenberg ruins are located above the village . The state road 2447 (formerly federal road 26 ) leads through Schmachtenberg from Zeil to Ziegelanger and the Franconian Marienweg .

On January 1, 1972 Schmachtenberg was incorporated into Zeil am Main.
