The narrow shovel runner or mountain shovel runner ( Cychrus attenuatus ) is a ground beetle from the genus of the shovel runner (Cychrus).
description
With a body size between 13 and 17 millimeters, the narrow blade rotor is somewhat smaller than the ordinary blade rotor . It is also black, but has a noticeably shiny bronze color. The thighs ( femur ) are really black, the lower legs ( tibia ) on all legs conspicuously yellow-red. It also lives in moist coniferous forests or in alder quarries , as well as in beech forests . It can be found during the day in moss cushions or under bark . It is absent in the lowlands and can only be found in the heights of the low and high mountains ( Alps ) up to the end of the forest zone.

Occurrence
The distribution area of the narrow blade runner extends over central and northern Europe , whereby it can also be found in the Italian Alps, the Pyrenees and the Carpathians as well as in Russia .
